Ramadan Photo-a-day: Humility

Ramadan is not only the month of fasting, but of spiritual exercise. Meditation, Introspection, praying- the range is vast for this exercise.

On Facebook a group titled “Ramadan Photo-a-day” has been started. They chose a value for each day, and the challenge is to capture a photo which best defines that value for you. Today’s value is Humility

The picture I submitted is the one of my husband paragliding in the mountains of Switzerland. How does paragliding connect to humility for me?

Paragliding and humility, where is the connection?

Paragliding and humility, where is the connection?

Humility and Paragliding

My interpretation: The winds, the currents, the fine meteorological balances and man’s efforts in harmony with them all keeps him in the air. This leaves one wondering and marvelling at nature’s creations and being thankful for this “symphony” of it all!!

Humlity and the Sea

Not only being in the “Air” is humbling. The almost endless sea and its dimensions give me this feeling of humility and the earth, let alone the universe being so big, so unreachable.

Humility and the Stars

In the South of Morocco we experienced one of the most beautiful moments, enjoying our dinner on the terrace with a Star-watching. Did she say star watching? Yes, out here, the air was clear enough  to let us have the most memorable Skywatching and along with it, we chanted a Sufi text – in short, very humbling evening! Regrettably (or not), I don’t have pictures of that event!

What about you? What is humility to you? Can you put it in a picture?
