For this I chose Hong Kong mornings – a less known destination of Ibn Battuta and how we enjoyed the marvellous views over the Victoria harbour in the mornings!

Hong Kong and Ibn Battuta?

Why not? There are reports, that Ibn Battuta travelled up to China. In fact, do you know, that the Ibn Battuta mall in Dubai, designed according to the destinations of Ibn Battuta, has a huge China court?

Why he traveled to China, is not known: farthest possible destination from his home, Tangier? China – already in those days – being an attraction to travelers? Reference: From Traveler to Memorist.

There is a saying by Muhammad, that

you should acquire knowledge, even if you have to go to China (for it).

He took this to heart!

Good morning from Hong Kong

Reading the travel stories of the adventurers of those times, makes me respect them for their courage and sometimes envious for all the privileges they used to have! Now let’s return to present tense.

From Dawn to Mornings, view over Victoria harbour

I am presenting here pictures from dawn to early mornings with beautiful views of the Victoria harbour as the mornings enveloped everything in sunlight. The pictures were taken from our room, and the breakfast lounge of the 35th and 37th floor of the Panorama Rhombus Hotel at Kowloon Island.
